Hello! My name is Mextli Jiménez-Colores (she/her/ella), and I am excited to join the Academic Advancement Center. I have a background in bilingual K-12 education, having served as a teacher in both Texas and Colorado. I earned a double major in International Affairs and Spanish Language and Literature, along with a double minor in Leadership and Women and Gender Studies, at the University of Colorado Boulder. Shortly after graduating, I joined Teach for America, where I earned my bilingual teaching certification. After completing my service, I moved to Fort Collins and continued working as a bilingual teacher within the Poudre School District.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned that every student has the right to an equitable education. To me, equity means ensuring every learner has the resources and support they need to reach their goals and aspirations. This belief led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Human Resource Studies at Colorado State University.
Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I love going on walks, drinking tea and boba, exploring small businesses, trying new desserts, and learning about people and the world around me.
