Sam Rosado
Sam (she/her) is a proud alumna of The Pennsylvania State University’s McNair Scholars Program. She completed her Master’s of Science in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management with dual degrees in Water Resources and Environmental Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming. While at the University of Wyoming, she was connected to the McNair Scholars Program as a graduate student mentor. Sam then went on to serve as the Associate Director of McNair at Knox College in Illinois for three years before returning to school for her PhD at Colorado State University. At Knox, she learned that each one of us brings a unique voice and identity to our research. We give it value and purpose in ways that matter to us, which makes us critical in academia. Because her TRIO community equipped her with the skills, resources, and belief in herself that she needed to succeed, Sam earned her Doctorate of Horticulture. She does balance her work with play, and is an avid board gamer and Dungeon Master for several table top roleplaying games.
