Karina A. Concepción serves as an Assistant Director for our TRIO SSS program. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico and is a proud bilingual educator fluent in both English and Spanish. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in Bilingual Education from the University of Houston, she spent three years teaching in title 1, dual-language elementary schools. She then earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Human Resource Studies from CSU.

Karina is deeply involved in nearly every aspect of our program, from facilitating the SSS course, to marketing, to coordinating most of our events. Beyond our department, she is an active member of various university-wide committees. As she is committed to ensuring every student has the resources and support they need to succeed, you can expect to see and hear from her often throughout your time with us.
